Celexa 40 mg Tablets

A healthcare provider may prescribe
Celexa to treat depression (also known as major depression or clinical depression). The dose of Celexa your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, such as your age, other medical conditions you may have, and other medications you are currently taking. There are three strengths of Celexa® (citalopram hydrobromide) on the market, and Celexa 40 mg tablets are the strongest strength available.

For depression treatment, the recommended starting Celexa dose is usually Celexa 20 mg tablets once daily. Your healthcare provider may choose to increase the Celexa dosage if symptoms continue or decrease the dose if side effects occur. Elderly people and those with liver problems may start with Celexa 20 mg tablets once daily. The Celexa dose (in this situation) should be increased only if necessary.

It usually takes several weeks before feeling the beneficial effects of Celexa. Try not to be discouraged if the medication does not work right away for you.
