Effects of Celexa

Celexa^® ( citalopram hydrobromide) is a prescription medicine commonly used for the treatment of depression. It belongs to a class of antidepressants known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, which work by balancing the levels of serotonin (a specific chemical) in the brain.

 

Several clinical studies have been conducted on the effects of Celexa. Studies have shown drug to be effective for depression treatment in adults. People who took it showed more improvement in depression symptoms compared to people not taking the medicine. Long-term studies have also shown that fewer people taking this antidepressant relapse (have their depression come back) than people not taking it.
