Best Time to Take Cymbalta

Cymbalta® (duloxetine hydrochloride) is a prescription drug licensed to treat depression, fibromyalgia, peripheral diabetic neuropathy pain, and generalized anxiety disorder. It comes in capsule form and is available in three different strengths.

The recommended dose of Cymbalta for the treatment of peripheral diabetic neuropathy pain and generalized anxiety disorder is 60 mg once daily. For fibromyalgia, the recommended starting dose is 30 mg once a day for one week (after which your healthcare provider may increase the dose to 60 mg once daily). The usual recommended Cymbalta dosage for depression is 20 mg twice daily, 30 mg twice daily, or 60 mg once daily.

There is not necessarily a best time to take Cymbalta, but you should try to take the medicine at the same time each day to maintain an even level in your blood. If this drug makes you drowsy, try taking it later in the day. If it causes insomnia, try taking it earlier in the day.
