Cymbalta Drug Information

Cymbalta® (
duloxetine hydrochloride) is an antidepressant often prescribed to treat depression. It is also approved for the treatment of fibromyalgia, generalized anxiety disorder, and peripheral diabetic neuropathy pain.

In order to help minimize risks while taking Cymbalta, drug information should be discussed with your healthcare provider before treatment begins. For example, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider before using the antidepressant if you have a history of suicide attempts or suicidal thoughts, kidney problems, glaucoma, or high blood pressure.

Most people tolerate Cymbalta well, but as with any medication, side effects are possible. In clinical studies, some of the most common side effects that were reported with this drug include dry mouth, dizziness, and insomnia.
