Does Deplin Work Alone?

Available by prescription only,
Deplin® is a supplement that is often used in combination with antidepressant or antipsychotic medications. It contains L-methylfolate, which is the active form of folic acid in the body. It is used to help increase folate levels in people with depression and for reducing homocysteine levels in people with schizophrenia. But does Deplin work alone?

Deplin is not an antidepressant or antipsychotic medication, and should not be used as the only treatment in people with depression or schizophrenia. It should only be used in combination with antidepressant and antipsychotic medications, under the supervision of a healthcare provider. Deplin is a nutritional supplement that may help improve a person's response to the antidepressant or antipsychotic medications.
