Using Caution With Effexor and Alcohol

If you decide to drink alcohol in moderation while on Effexor, it is recommended that you not drink alcohol at the same time that you take your Effexor. Also, you should learn the effects that Effexor has on your body before you begin drinking. Effexor may affect some individuals' ability to perform certain functions, such as driving a car or operating machinery.
 

Talking With Your Healthcare Provider

You should talk with your healthcare provider about Effexor and alcohol. This is because everyone's situation is different and your healthcare provider understands your situation best. Based on what you want and expect, as well as your current health situation, you and your healthcare provider can make a shared decision about Effexor and alcohol that is right for you.
