Benefits of Effexor
Effexor® (venlafaxine hydrochloride) is a prescription medicine that belongs to a class of antidepressants known as serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. It is licensed to treat depression in adults.
There appear to be numerous benefits of Effexor. Not only has the medication been shown to significantly improve symptoms of depression, long-term studies also show that it is effective for preventing depression relapses.
Effexor comes in tablet form and is typically taken two to three times a day. It works by acting on specific chemicals in the brain. Serotonin and norepinephrine are brain chemicals that can cause depression if they become unbalanced. Effexor works by balancing the levels of these chemicals.
