Best Time to Take Effexor

Effexor® (venlafaxine hydrochloride) is a prescription antidepressant commonly used for treating depression in adults. It comes in tablet form and is available in five different strengths.

The usual starting Effexor dosage is 75 mg total per day, divided up into two or three smaller doses. You should try to take the medication with food. Your healthcare provider may lower your dose if you experience side effects or increase your dose if your symptoms are not adequately controlled.

Although there is not necessarily a best time to take Effexor, the medication should be taken at the same times each day. This helps to maintain an even level of medicine in your blood.

(Click Effexor Dosage for more information about how to take Effexor and for more detailed dosing guidelines for this medication.)
