Effexor Dangers

 Effexor® (venlafaxine hydrochloride) is a medication often used for treating depression. It is available by prescription and is only approved for use in adults.
 
Before you begin depression treatment, it is important to be aware of any potential dangers with Effexor. As an antidepressant, Effexor can increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior in children, teenagers, and adults. If you notice any changes in symptoms or new symptoms while taking Effexor (such as hallucinations, anxiety, or hostility), talk to your healthcare provider immediately.
 
There are also a number of possible side effects to look out for during treatment with Effexor. Common side effects of the medicine may include high blood pressure, sexual problems, insomnia, and loss of appetite.
