If you abruptly stop taking Effexor® (venlafaxine hydrochloride), withdrawal symptoms could occur. Potential withdrawal symptoms may include a burning or tingling sensation, insomnia, headache, and dizziness. For most people, these withdrawal symptoms improve with time (without the need for any treatment). In order to help reduce the risk of Effexor withdrawal, your healthcare provider may gradually decrease your dosage before stopping the medication completely.
