Emsam Warnings and Precautions (Cont.)

Who Should Not Take Emsam?

You should not take Emsam if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Emsam, the selegiline transdermal patch, or any of the inactive components used to make Emsam. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients used to make Emsam.
     
  • Have a pheochromocytoma (a certain type of adrenal tumor).
     
  • Are undergoing elective surgery. You should stop Emsam for at least 10 days before undergoing any surgery that involves a general or local anesthetic.
