Alternatives to Fetzima
Fetzima is quite effective at treating depression and is usually well tolerated. However, not everyone will adequately respond to the medication. In addition, some people may experience serious or intolerable side effects and may need to stop taking it. For those people, other depression treatments may be needed.
Some of the possible alternatives to Fetzima include:
- Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs)
- Tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs)
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
- Other serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors
- Miscellaneous antidepressants.

Psychotherapy is another possible effective treatment for depression. It can be used alone or in combination with an antidepressant (see Psychotherapy for Depression for more information).
What If I Take an Overdose?
At this time, it is not exactly clear what to expect from an overdose. If you happen to take too much Fetzima, seek immediate medical attention.

How Should Fetzima Be Stored?
Fetzima should be stored at room temperature. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose?
If you forget to take your Fetzima dose, simply take it as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. In this case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose.
