Fetzima Warnings and Precautions
Who Should Not Take Fetzima?
You should not take Fetzima if you:
- Are allergic to it, levomilnacipran, a similar medicine known as milnacipran (Savella®), or any of the inactive components used to make Fetizma. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
- Are currently taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) to treat a psychiatric problem within the past 14 days (see Fetzima Drug Interactions). You should also not take an MAOI if you have taken Fetzima in the past seven days.
- Have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma (a type of eye condition).
There are a number of situations in which Fetzima should not be taken, as well as several precautions and warnings people should be aware of before starting treatment. However, it is possible that not all of these safety issues were discussed in this article. Therefore, talk with your healthcare provider about the specific concerns that may directly apply to you.
