Lexapro 10 mg Tablets

Lexapro® (escitalopram oxalate) is a prescription drug commonly used for the treatment of depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). It comes in the form of an oral solution (Lexapro Oral Solution 5 mg per 5 mL) and tablets, which are available in three strengths:

  • Lexapro 5 mg tablets
  • Lexapro 10 mg tablets
  • Lexapro 20 mg tablets.

Most people being treated for depression or generalized anxiety disorder typically start with Lexapro 10 mg tablets (one tablet, once daily). Your healthcare provider may choose to increase the dose if symptoms continue, or decrease it if side effects occur.

Individual dosages can range from 10 mg to 20 mg once a day. For elderly people or people with liver problems, the maximum dose is Lexapro 10 mg once daily.
