Lexapro Drug Interactions

When certain drugs are taken along with Lexapro, drug interactions can potentially occur. Some of these interactions may result in side effects or changes in the levels of some drugs in your blood. Drug interactions with Lexapro may also raise your risk of bleeding in the stomach or intestines or cause a dangerous irregular heart rhythm called QT prolongation, among other things. A few of the drugs that can potentially interact with Lexapro include alcohol, aspirin, lithium, and cimetidine.

 

Lexapro Drug Interactions: An Introduction

 Lexapro® (escitalopram oxalate) can potentially interact with a number of other medicines. Some of the medicines that can lead to Lexapro interactions include:
 

 

 

  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Tryptophan
  • Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
