Depression Home > Oleptro Medication Information
OleptroTM (trazodone ER) is available only by prescription and is approved for treating depression in adults. This antidepressant is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medicines you are taking before prescribing it.
Although many people do not have any problems while taking this drug, Oleptro can cause side effects, such as drowsiness, headaches, and dry mouth. If negative reactions do occur, they tend to be mild and easily treated.
Oleptro comes in the form of extended-release tablets and is only taken once daily, usually at bedtime. Do not crush, chew, or dissolve the tablets, as this will cause the medication to be released too quickly.
