In clinical studies, there appeared to be a slightly increased risk of suicidal behavior in children and teenagers who took antidepressants such as Pexeva. However, it is difficult to tell for sure if there is a link between Pexeva and suicidal behavior. You should contact your child's doctor immediately if you notice any suicidal behaviors, such as aggressive behavior and acting on dangerous impulses.
Is There a Link Between Suicide and Pexeva?Pexeva® (paroxetine mesylate) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of the following conditions:
- Major depressive disorder (also known as major depression)
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Panic disorder
- Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).
