Trimipramine is a medication used for the treatment of depression in adults. It is a type of tricyclic antidepressant that works by affecting certain chemicals in the brain. Some possible side effects of trimipramine include dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation. The capsules, which are available by prescription, come in three different strengths and are generally taken one to four times a day.
- This medicine comes in capsule form. When used for depression, it is usually taken by mouth one to four times daily.
- You can take trimipramine with or without food. If it upsets your stomach, try taking it with food.
- Trimipramine should be taken at the same time(s) each day to maintain an even level in your blood.
- For the antidepressant to work properly, you have to take it as prescribed. It will not work if you stop taking it.
