Nardil® (phenelzine sulfate), a type of monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), is commonly used to treat depression. However, the drug is not suitable for everyone. In fact, this prescription medication has several potentially lethal drug and food interactions, and is often used as a last resort, when other antidepressants have failed. Before starting treatment with Nardil, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medications you are taking, including supplements and vitamins, as well as any other medical conditions you have.
