Nortriptyline 25 Mg Capsules

Nortriptyline hydrochloride (Pamelor®) is a medication commonly used in the treatment of depression (sometimes called major depression or clinical depression). There is no "one-size-fits-all" dose. Rather, the amount a person is prescribed will depend on various factors, like age or if any other medical conditions are present.
In adults, the usual starting dose is nortriptyline 25-mg capsules, taken three or four times per day. Ideally, no more than 100 mg should be taken in 24-hour period. If your healthcare provider thinks it is necessary to exceed this daily amount, the levels of nortriptyline in your blood should be monitored regularly.
If you experience drowsiness or dizziness while taking this medication, ask your healthcare provider if you can take it before bedtime to help decrease this potentially bothersome side effect. Do not make any adjustments to your dosing schedule without appropriate approval and supervision.
