Drug Interactions With Olanzapine and Fluoxetine

Buspirone 
Because combining olanzapine and fluoxetine with buspirone may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Carbamazepine
Taking olanzapine and fluoxetine with carbamazepine can lower the amount of olanzapine and fluoxetine in your blood, perhaps decreasing its effectiveness. It can also increase the amount of carbamazepine in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these medications to prevent this from happening.
 
Certain Antipsychotic Medications
Olanzapine and fluoxetine can increase the level of certain antipsychotic medications in your blood and can increase your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to lower your dose of the antipsychotic medicine to prevent this.
 
Thioridazine should never be taken with olanzapine and fluoxetine. In fact, you should not take thioridazine if you have taken olanzapine and fluoxetine within the past five weeks.
 
Ciprofloxacin
Taking olanzapine and fluoxetine with ciprofloxacin can raise the amount of olanzapine and fluoxetine in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of olanzapine and fluoxetine side effects. If you are taking these drugs together, your healthcare provider may need to adjust your doses of them to prevent drug interactions.
 
Diazepam
Combining olanzapine and fluoxetine with diazepam can increase the level of diazepam in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your dose of diazepam to prevent this from occurring.
 
Digoxin
If olanzapine and fluoxetine is taken with digoxin, it can increase your risk of digoxin side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your digoxin dose when starting or stopping olanzapine and fluoxetine.
