Oleptro Drug Interactions

Carbamazepine
Carbamazepine can decrease the level of Oleptro in your blood, perhaps making Oleptro less effective. Your healthcare provider may need to increase your dose of Oleptro.
 
Digoxin
Taking digoxin with Oleptro may increase the level of digoxin in your blood, increasing your risk of digoxin side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor the level of digoxin in your blood, especially when starting or stopping Oleptro.
 
Fentanyl
Taking Oleptro with fentanyl can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of these symptoms, as serotonin syndrome can be very dangerous.
 
Intravenous Methylene Blue
Taking Oleptro with intravenous methylene blue can increase your chance of developing dangerous side effects, including serotonin syndrome. Oleptro should not be started in people taking linezolid or IV methylene blue, but a person already taking Oleptro may be given linezolid or methylene blue, if absolutely necessary, and only with very careful monitoring and only if Oleptro is stopped during treatment.
 
Linezolid
Taking Oleptro with linezolid can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. These symptoms include confusion, hallucinations, fast heartbeat, feeling faint, fever, sweating, muscle spasms, difficulty walking, and diarrhea. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of these symptoms, as serotonin syndrome can be very dangerous.
