Oleptro Drug Interactions

Lithium
Taking Oleptro with lithium can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of serotonin syndrome (see Oleptro Warnings and Precautions), as it can be very dangerous.
 
Miscellaneous Antidepressants
Combining Oleptro with antidepressants may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of serotonin syndrome, as it can be very dangerous.
  
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
You should not take Oleptro and an MAOI within 14 days of each other, as serious side effects could result.
 
Phenytoin
Taking phenytoin with Oleptro may increase the level of phenytoin in your blood, increasing your risk of phenytoin side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor the level of phenytoin in your blood, especially when you are starting or stopping Oleptro.
 
Sibutramine
Taking Oleptro with sibutramine can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of serotonin syndrome (see Oleptro Warnings and Precautions), as it can be very dangerous.
 
SSRI or SNRI Antidepressants
Taking Oleptro with SSRI or SNRI antidepressants can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these depression medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any symptoms of serotonin syndrome (see Oleptro Warnings and Precautions), as it can be very dangerous.
