By affecting a certain brain chemical, paroxetine hydrochloride (Paxil®) can help treat the symptoms of several conditions. Paroxetine is approved to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder, and several other conditions. However, paroxetine is not suitable for everyone.
