Paxil CR Dosage
For adults who are beginning depression treatment, dosing with Paxil CR usually starts at 25 mg once a day. People with panic disorder or social anxiety disorder generally start with a daily dosage of 12.5 mg. Women with premenstrual dysphoric disorder can take a daily dose of 12.5 mg for every day during the entire menstrual cycle or only during the last two weeks of their cycle. The maximum daily dosages of this drug are 62.5 mg for depression, 75 mg for panic disorder, and 37.5 mg for social anxiety disorder.
The dosage of Paxil CR® (paroxetine controlled release) that your healthcare provider prescribes will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
- Your age
- The medical condition you are being treated for
- Other medical conditions you may have
- Other medications you may be currently taking.
As always, do not adjust your Paxil CR dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
The recommended starting Paxil CR dosage for treating depression is 25 mg once daily. Your healthcare provider may choose to increase the dosage if symptoms continue, or decrease the dose if side effects occur. The maximum recommended daily dose for depression is Paxil CR 62.5 mg.
For people with panic disorder, the recommended starting dosage of Paxil CR is 12.5 mg daily. Your healthcare provider may choose to increase the Paxil CR dosage if symptoms continue, or decrease the dose if side effects occur. The maximum recommended daily dose for panic disorder is Paxil CR 75 mg.
