Paxil CR Drug Interactions

There are a number of medications that can potentially interact with Paxil CR. Some of these drugs include aspirin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), digoxin, and cimetidine. Paxil CR drug interactions may alter the levels of some medicines in your blood or lead to serious side effects -- such as bleeding in the stomach or intestines, serotonin syndrome, or QT prolongation (a dangerous irregular heart rhythm).

 

Paxil CR Drug Interactions: An Introduction

 Paxil CR® (paroxetine controlled release) can potentially interact with a number of other medicines. Some of the medicines that can lead to Paxil CR interactions include:
 

 

 

  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:

 

 

  • Phenothiazine medications, including:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Tryptophan
  • Warfarin (Coumadin®, Jantoven®).
