Pexeva Uses

Can Older Adults Use It?

Pexeva is removed from the body more slowly in older adults than in younger age groups. Therefore, it is generally recommended that older adults receive a lower starting dose of this medication (usually 10 mg a day) and no more than 40 mg a day. In addition, older adults may have an increased risk for certain Pexeva side effects, including low blood sodium (hyponatremia) (see Pexeva Warnings and Precautions).
