Pristiq® (
desvenlafaxine succinate) is a prescription drug approved to treat
depression in adults. The medicine comes in the form of extended-release tablets that only need to be taken once a day. Two strengths are available; your healthcare provider will determine which one is appropriate after considering your medical history, current medications, and other factors.
Although no time of day is considered better than any other for taking Pristiq, it's best to take your dosage consistently, at the same time each day. This will ensure that an even amount of medication remains in your system. Your healthcare provider may decide to increase your dosage if you tolerate it well but are not seeing a satisfactory improvement in your depression symptoms.
