Pristiq Drug Interactions

If alcohol, haloperidol, or NSAIDs are taken with Pristiq, drug interactions could occur. Some interactions can increase your risk of side effects, while others can increase the drug levels in your blood. Tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking to help prevent these interactions. Other medications that can cause drug interactions with Pristiq include cimetidine, lithium, and anticoagulant medicines.

Pristiq Drug Interactions: An Overview

 Pristiq® (desvenlafaxine succinate) can potentially interact with a number of medicines. Some of the medicines that can lead to Pristiq drug interactions include:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Medications that "thin" the blood (such as anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs), such as:
     
 
 
 
      • Alteplase (Activase®)
      • Reteplase (Retavase®)
      • Streptokinase (Streptase®)
      • Tenecteplase (TNKase®)
 
 
 
  
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), such as:
 
 
  • Other SSRI or SNRI medications, such as:
