Pristiq Oral

Pristiq® (
desvenlafaxine succinate) is a prescription drug used to treat depression in adults. The medication works by affecting certain chemicals in the brain (serotonin and norepinephrine), which can cause conditions such as depression when the levels become unbalanced.

Pristiq is an oral medication that comes in the form of an extended-release tablet. Because it is a long-acting antidepressant, it only has to be taken once a day. Although most people tolerate this medication well, side effects are possible and may include nausea, headaches, and dizziness, among others.
