When Does Pristiq Start Working?

Pristiq® (desvenlafaxine succinate) is a medication used to treat depression in adults. This long-acting antidepressant comes in the form of extended-release tablets. It only has to be taken once a day and is available in two strengths. If you are starting treatment with Pristiq, you may find yourself wondering when it starts working.
Although Pristiq has been proven to be an effective treatment for depression, it can often take several weeks to begin working (this is the case with many types of antidepressants). Sometimes, other people will notice an improvement in your symptoms before you do. Keep in mind that it usually takes at least four to six weeks before significant changes in mood occur, so don't become discouraged if Pristiq doesn't seem to be working right away.
