Best Time to Take Prozac

Prozac® (fluoxetine hydrochloride) is a medication used for treating numerous conditions, including depression, panic disorder, OCD, and bulimia. It comes in capsule form and is available by prescription only.

The medication is generally taken once or twice a day. There is not necessarily a best time for Prozac to be taken, although the drug should be taken at the same time each day (or the same day each week, with Prozac Weekly) to maintain an even level of medication in your blood. If the drug makes you drowsy, try taking your dosage before bedtime; if it causes insomnia for you, try taking it in the morning.

(Click Prozac Dosage for more information on when to take Prozac and to find dosing guidelines for the treatment of depression, OCD, panic disorder, and bulimia.)
