Certain Seizure Medications
Taking Prozac with certain seizure medications (carbamazepine and phenytoin) can increase the level of the seizure medication in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your dose of seizure medication.
 
Diazepam (Valium)
Taking Prozac with diazepam can increase the level of diazepam in your blood, increasing your risk of side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to decrease your dose of diazepam.
 
Digoxin (Digitek, Lanoxin)
Taking Prozac and digoxin together can increase your risk of digoxin side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your digoxin dose when starting or stopping Prozac.
 
Fentanyl
Taking Prozac with fentanyl can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of these symptoms, as serotonin syndrome can be very dangerous.
 
Intravenous Methylene Blue
Taking Prozac with intravenous methylene blue can increase your chance of developing dangerous side effects, including serotonin syndrome. Do not take these medications together.
 
Linezolid (Zyvox)
Taking Prozac with a linezolid can cause a group of symptoms called serotonin syndrome. These symptoms include confusion, hallucination, fast heartbeat, feeling faint, fever, sweating, muscle spasm, difficulty walking, and diarrhea. Talk to your healthcare provider before taking these medications together. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of these symptoms, as serotonin syndrome can be very dangerous.
