Prozac Warnings and Precautions

For those who are first starting an antidepressant like Prozac, warnings and precautions for the medication should be reviewed and understood. The drug is not suitable for everyone; you should avoid taking Prozac if you are allergic to any components of the medicine, have taken an MAOI within the past two weeks, are taking pimozide, or are taking thioridazine. There are also a number of potential side effects to look out for while taking Prozac, including serotonin syndrome, insomnia and anxiety, or unintended weight loss.
