People who have depression, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or bulimia may benefit from Prozac® (fluoxetine hydrochloride). This prescription medication works to treat the symptoms of these conditions by allowing a certain chemical (serotonin) to stay in the brain for a longer period of time. It is possible to take too much Prozac. Make sure to seek immediate medical attention if you think you may have overdosed on Prozac. Some signs of a Prozac overdose can include confusion, breathing problems, and an irregular heart rhythm.
