Remeron Side Effects

Serious Remeron Side Effects

Some side effects with Remeron, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:
 
  • Suicidal thoughts or behavior (see Remeron and Suicide)
  • High blood pressure (hypertension) or low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Anxiety, agitation, or panic attacks
  • Hostility or aggressiveness
  • Engaging in unusual or dangerous activities
  • Restlessness or inability to sit still
  • Extreme elation or feelings of happiness that may switch back and forth with a depressed or sad mood
  • Other unusual changes in behavior
  • Hallucinations
  • A fast heart rate
  • Chest palpitations (feelings of a rapidly or forcefully beating heart)
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Sore throat, fever, or other signs of an infection
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
 
    • An unexplained rash
    • Hives
    • Itching
    • Unexplained swelling
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing or swallowing.
 

Rare Side Effects

Rare side effects occur in less than 1 percent of people taking Remeron. Because these side effects are so uncommon, it is difficult to tell whether they are because of the medication or something else.
