Generic Sinequan

Although brand-name Sinequan is no longer being manufactured, it is still available as a generic. Sinequan is currently being sold as generic capsules (doxepin) and liquid (doxepin solution). A number of drug companies manufacture generic Sinequan products, including Morton Grove Pharmaceuticals, Par Pharmaceuticals, and Mylan Pharmaceuticals. Although the generic form of Sinequan is equivalent to the brand-name version, it may contain different inactive ingredients.

 

Generic for Sinequan: An Overview

Sinequan® (doxepin hydrochloride) is a prescription medication that has been licensed as a depression treatment. It is part of a class of medicines known as tricyclic antidepressants.
 
Brand-name Sinequan was originally made by Pfizer. Although the brand-name version of the drug is no longer being manufactured, generic Sinequan is still available.
 

Strengths of Generic Sinequan

Generic Sinequan capsules are available in the following strengths:
 
  • Doxepin 10 mg capsules
  • Doxepin 25 mg capsules
  • Doxepin 50 mg capsules
  • Doxepin 75 mg capsules
  • Doxepin 100 mg capsules
  • Doxepin 150 mg capsules.
     
A generic version of liquid Sinequan is also available -- doxepin solution 10 mg per mL.
