Sinequan Side Effects

Weight gain, constipation, and drowsiness have all been reported as common side effects of Sinequan. Side effects are generally minor and, in most cases, do not require medical attention. However, be sure to contact your healthcare provider immediately if you develop any serious Sinequan side effects, such as seizures, swelling of the testicles, or changes in heart rhythm.

Sinequan Side Effects: An Introduction

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with Sinequan^® (doxepin hydrochloride). However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate the antidepressant well. When people do develop Sinequan side effects, in many cases they are minor, meaning they either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.

Common Side Effects of Sinequan

Sinequan has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials in which the side effects seen with a group of people taking the drug are documented and compared to another group not taking the medicine.

This way, it is possible to see what side effects occur, how often they appear, and how they compare to the group not taking the medicine.

In these studies, the most common side effects of Sinequan include:

Dizziness or lightheadedness
Drowsiness
Confusion
Constipation
Difficulty urinating
Dry mouth (see Doxepin and Dry Mouth)
Weight gain (see Sinequan and Weight Gain)
Changes in libido (sex drive)
Changes in blood sugar levels
Increased sweating.

Withdrawal side effects have been reported in people who have stopped taking Sinequan suddenly (see Doxepin Withdrawal).
