St. Johns Wart

Were you looking for information about
St. John's Wort? St. Johns wart is a common misspelling of St. John's wort.

St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) is commonly used to treat depression and other health problems. This herbal supplement is believed to work by increasing the amount of certain chemicals in the brain.

There is quite a bit of evidence suggesting that St. John's wort is effective for treating depression. However, a few important studies have shown that this product is no more effective than a placebo (a "sugar pill" that does not contain any active ingredients). More research is needed before it can be determined for certain if St. John's wort really works.
