Drug Interactions With Trazodone

Several medications may cause drug interactions with trazodone, including certain antibiotics and antifungals, protease inhibitors, and carbamazepine. These interactions can increase the levels of trazodone in your blood and may increase the risk for side effects. If drug interactions with trazodone are a concern, your healthcare provider may adjust your dosage or monitor you more closely.

An Introduction to Drug Interactions With Trazodone

 Trazodone hydrochloride (Desyrel®) can potentially interact with a number of medicines. Some of the medicines that can lead to drug interactions with trazodone include:
 
  • Certain antibiotics or antifungals, including:
o Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
o Isoniazid (Nydrazid®)
o Itraconazole (Sporanox®)
o Ketoconazole (Nizoral®)
o Miconazole
o Telithromycin (Ketek®)
  • Quinidine.
