Even though antidepressants (including trazodone) are generally not recommended for people with bipolar disorder, occasionally there are situations in which using the drug may be appropriate for a person with the condition. If you have bipolar disorder, talk to your healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of using trazodone to treat the condition.
