Trazodone for Children

Trazodone hydrochloride (Desyrel®) is a prescription medication used to treat depression in adults. It comes in the form of a tablet and is typically taken one to three times a day. At this time, the antidepressant is not approved for use in children or teenagers. If you have questions about appropriate treatments for childhood depression, your child's healthcare provider can offer information on other options besides trazodone.
