Trazodone is taken by mouth (orally), typically between one and three times a day. Most people tolerate it well, and if side effects (such as
headaches or drowsiness) do occur, they tend to be minor and easy to treat.
Although brand-name
trazodone tablets are no longer available, generic trazodone is available in three strengths:
- 50 mg tablets
- 100 mg tablets
- 150 mg tablets.
This drug may not be suitable for everyone. Before starting treatment, be sure to tell your healthcare provider about all the medications you take and any other medical conditions you have, including
bipolar disorder and
heart disease.
