Drug Interactions With Trimipramine

Among the drugs that can potentially interact with trimipramine are alcohol, cimetidine, and arrhythmia medications. Drug interactions with trimipramine can alter the levels of some medicines in your blood and increase your risk of side effects, among other things. You should be sure to talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any interactions with trimipramine that may apply to you.

 

An Introduction to Drug Interactions With Trimipramine

 Trimipramine maleate (Surmontil®) can potentially interact with many other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to trimipramine interactions include:
 
  • Alcohol
     
  • Anticholinergic medications, including:

 

 

  • Arrhythmia medications, including:

 

    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®)
    • Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
    • Flecainide (Tambocor®)
    • Ibutilide (Corvert®)
    • Propafenone (Rythmol®)
    • Quinidine
    • Sotalol (Betapace®)

 

 

 

  • Phenothiazine medications, including:

 

 

  • Pressors, including:

 

    • Dopamine (Intropin®)
    • Dobutamine (Dobutrex®)
    • Epinephrine (Adrenalin®, EpiPen®)
    • Norepinephrine (Levophed®)

 

 

 

  • Thyroid medications, including:
