Venlafaxine Side Effects
A few common side effects of venlafaxine include nervousness, loss of appetite, and body weakness. Some rare venlafaxine side effects include chest pain, sleep apnea, and enlarged prostate. There are also a number of side effects with this medicine that you should report to your healthcare provider. Some of these more serious side effects include difficulty sleeping, hostility or aggressiveness, and signs of an allergic reaction.
Venlafaxine hydrochloride is a prescription medication used to treat depression and certain types of anxiety disorders. It is sold under the brand name Effexor®. It is also available as a generic, sold as Venlafaxine tablets. Finally, there is an extended release form of venlafaxine available as Effexor XR®. There is no generic Effexor XR available.
