Wellbutrin SR for Use in Children

Wellbutrin SR is not approved for the treatment of childhood depression, as it has been studied only in adults. Talk with your healthcare provider about the risks and benefits of using Wellbutrin SR in children with depression.
 

Off-Label Wellbutrin SR Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Wellbutrin SR for treating something other than depression. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, there are several off-label Wellbutrin SR uses, including:
 
  • Treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Treating seasonal affective disorder (SAD)
  • Helping with smoking cessation (see Wellbutrin to Quit Smoking).
