Wellbutrin® (bupropion hydrochloride) is a prescription medicine often used for treating depression. It belongs to a class of drugs called norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitors, which work by balancing the levels of these chemicals in the brain. Wellbutrin tablets, which are available in a 75- and 100-mg strength, are typically taken two to four times per day.
