Zoloft 50 mg Tablets

Zoloft® (sertraline hydrochloride) is a medication often prescribed for the treatment of depression, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other conditions within the brain. It comes in tablet and liquid form, and is available in several strengths, including:

  • Zoloft 25 mg tablets
  • Zoloft 50 mg tablets
  • Zoloft 100 mg tablets
  • Zoloft oral concentrate 20 mg per mL.

People with depression or obsessive-compulsive disorder generally start with Zoloft 50 mg tablets (one tablet, once a day). Your healthcare provider may choose to increase the amount if symptoms continue, or decrease it if side effects occur.

The recommended starting dosage for people with panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, or social anxiety disorder is 25 mg once daily. After a week, your healthcare provider will likely increase the dose to Zoloft 50 mg once a day.

For those with premenstrual dysphoric disorder, the recommended starting dosage of Zoloft is 50 mg once a day, either throughout the entire menstrual cycle or just during the last two weeks (before a woman's period starts), depending on your healthcare provider's instructions.
