Most people who take Zoloft® (sertraline hydrochloride) will not experience any problems. However, side effects are possible and may include things such as nausea, insomnia, and diarrhea. In most cases, Zoloft side effects are minor and easily treated. However, there are potentially serious side effects that require immediate medical attention. Notify your healthcare provider right away if you experience serious side effects with Zoloft, such as suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, or a fast heart rate.
